The Chronicles of Me
Wow, this is sadly my first post of the new year..my first post with paragraphs since I bought my jeep. Which means I should probably mention it.
If you'll look to the left, you'll notice a somewhat new link entitled "Jeep". Here you will find out pretty much anything you need to know about the Jeep. I'd have to say that Jeeps are very expensive in the after-market arena. There is no shortage of things to buy for them (although having an Unlimited makes it harder to find stuff.) I think I've already spent more on the Jeep than I did my Protege (well..only if you include the 'fun' accessories.) I still haven't actually paid a dime towards the Jeep yet. I put the down payment (and some accessories) on the credit card..which won't be due till the beginning of March. The first payment is due on Valentine's day. So for my birthday this year, I'm going broke.
This last weekend..I became a full-fledged chaperon. I suppose I've taken on the chaperon role before, but this was for a 4 day trip to the slopes of West Virginia. We took 53 youth/advisers on a charter bus to the Winterplace Ski Resort, near Beckley, WV. This is where I learned to ski when I was a youth in the church (of course I still consider myself youth[full].) It was a good weekend. I had a chance to get to know/hang out with[/yell at] some of the youth and other chaperons from church. I'll have to admit that I am no skier. I didn't fall too much, but I did the 'pizza'/'wedge' practically the entire way down the mountain. We did unfortunately suffer a broken leg (multiple bones) of one of the youth on the second day of skiing. He handled it amazingly well.
I've recently discovered that another of my college friends has her own blog..which is cool. She even appears to frequently update it. Now I can keep her, her husband (one of my ex-roommates/best friends), and there dog a little more easily. Now, "Yoda" needs a blog (which would be no less interesting than this blog, btw). Actually, I think it'd be great if everyone had one :)
I'm headed to Columbia tomorrow for Jono's Birthday Extravaganza. I'll just about double the mileage on the Jeep. I actually kept my Protege for road trips and such, but I have a feeling I wouldn't be welcome if I didn't bring my new toy to show off :). Now that I think of it, I should really prepare for the trip so I can leave promptly after work so as to not be late for face-off.
