Another One Bites The Dust
I have a routine for when I get home from work which was unfortunately thrown out of wack today. I am generally the first person to arrive home on the weekdays..and I am the only one who checks the mail. Today, however, we didn't receive mail because our neighbors are having work done on their house.
Why did our neighbors construction stop us from getting mail you ask? Well, apparently when the landscapers dropped off a pile of dirt, blocking the entire right side of the street by the way, they decided it would be fun to run over a mailbox. Our mailbox. They split the 4X4 post like it was a toothpick. I got home to find a splinter poking out of the ground and the mailbox lying next to it.
So it looks like we'll be getting a new mailbox..well, at least a new pole. The big issue now is that the post office doesn't deliver mail if there is something blocking your mailbox..or it's lying on the ground. I will refrain myself from cracking on the laziness of postal workers..since I used to be one..not that I was a full fledged postal worker..but I was lazy. You know, I just cracked on the laziness of postal workers. Oh well.
Back to the issue at hand. No mailbox means no bills or snail-mailed spam. Since we can't live without either of those, I immediately thought of my loft from college. That pile of wood in the garage. That *useless* pile of wood in the garage. Using one of the 4X4 legs from the loft, my new ratchet set, and my drill I was able to throw together a makeshift mailbox in a matter of minutes. So tomorrow we should be blessed with two days of junk mail..woo hoo!!

"Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology." Just for fun, you should try to use ALL of the spare lumber from the loft to rebuild the mailbox.

Thanks Jonathan... But PLEASE don't give him any bright ideas... I keep telling him to post a photo... but it's so tacky right now, he won't even take a picture! At least we get mail... =)
