Too Many Collections
So when did the price of collectible baseball cards fall? I have a ton of cards from my youth that I thought would be worth at least what I paid for them 15 years ago. Complete sealed sets sell for only a couple dollars on eBay. I'd love to get rid of some of my cards to free up some space, but it isn't worth selling them now.
I tend to go overboard in my collecting of things, causing lots of clutter. Baseball cards (a sport, like all sports, which I never really cared to watch), Star Wars figures, and Lego. Those are my main culprits of taking up too much space at the moment. Come to think of it, computer parts, wires, vehicles, movie posters (in and out of frames), ticket stubs, movies (videos and DVDs), Cd's, magazines, shot glasses, pint glasses, bottles, hats (which I hardly ever wear), and probably a dozen other collections probably don't help much on the space issue. (not that all of these things are bad things too collect)
Why do I have to be so much of a pack-rat? I'll admit that I am getting a lot better than I used to be. I've pretty much resorted to not letting myself buy anything. I don't even go to the store. When I do, I try my darnedest to stay out of the toy section. I'm doing my best to throw away a lot of stuff as well. I'm not sure why I still need my notes from Algebra II in high school. I've filled up a drum-sized trash bag this weekend with stuff..err crap from my closet. I've recycled roughly a ton of magazines, half of which I probably never read, in the last month. Why did I ever think I needed this stuff? Like I was going to go back and read it. Relearn what the quadratic equation is. Not that I ever really had a grasp of that.
Ok..I am going to go back to watching Footloose on AMC.

You should still have some cards from "my youth" that are still worth something. As far as being a pack-rat, the acorn doesn't fall too far from the tree.
