What A Long Day At Work

Well, maybe not. I got to sleep in an extra hour and I'm already done for the day. Now I just need to figure out how not to waste the rest of my day. I got my beta test disc in today..so I'm hoping I don't stare at my tv all day. Of course that sounds like a lot more fun than building a gate for the fence.

I got my bluetooth headset for the blackberry today. It's charging now, so I have to wait to play with it. Don't you hate that about all these cool toys that you have to charge for a long time before you use? Grr.. I'm not sure how much I really need this headset right now. I haven't used my phone much (17 minutes and 35 seconds to be exact). My biggest concern with the thing is that it's so small I'm afraid I'll lose it. I'm gonna need a fanny pack for all my tech goodies..

It's New?!?!?

Wow..for the first time in what seems like eons, Lost is new. Which means I don't have that extra hour to write my entry for the day. Which is unfortunate.cause I might come up with something to say in that hour. lol.

Work was good today I assume. Mostly because I knew that I didn't have to do trim tomorrow. I'm working on closet shelving (yes I do this a lot). Just today we (since I'm not as reliable these days I got a helper) got to the part that I'm not a big fan of. Nosing. Which requires sanding. Because I do all of the closet shelving, I generally have to do all of the sanding as well..which is horrible for the sinuses. Hopefully while I am spending some quality time with a laser tomorrow, they can get a good bit of it done. Although I'm sure I'll still get my fair share in on Friday.

My IRA is finally all taken care of. Which means I can safely file my taxes. Which means I can buy tools soon. I think that I am going to head to Lowes tomorrow after lasing and check out their current prices (not that I don't already know what everything costs). I need to decide if I want to buy the tools in the store or on Amazon's website. Amazon tends to have some good deals on some of the items I want (and usually free super saving shipping). Lowes rarely has deals. Unless you happen to walk in the store at the right moment. Ten percent off all power tools tomorrow would be cool.

Dang. I just went to Amazon to look for something. I have NEVER ordered anything from them. (well maybe once or so in college-but that was a different computer, different ISP). They know my name. They also apparently think I like Mandy Moore and AC/DC. I'll admit that I was looking for a track listing for an AC/DC cd last week. Mandy Moore though. That proves [to me] that there new technology doesn't work so well for everyone. They don't know who is using the computer (I assume my sister was looking up Moore), or why they are using amazon's site. I generally use it for data collecting purposes.

It looks like I'd save over $50 plus get a free blade if I ordered my saw online. Interesting.

Networking Blues.

Why can't computers just act the way they are supposed to? I cannot for the life of me figure out why I don't have permission to view MY workgroup from MY computer [and come to think of it, why my printer won't work--and never has on this computer]. I can skip that step and go straight to my computer on the network, but then I get some login prompt that doesn't do anything (ie I can't log into my own computer over the network from the same computer). So basically I can't transfer files to Kira's new computer [easily]. I can send stuff over the intranet, but that's a pain in the butt. I'd much rather be able to do it all from the windows explorer. Maybe this means I need a new computer. I'll get that right after the carpentry tools and Jeep accessories. Oh, and don't forget the widescreen tv, which goes on the entertainment center that I am going to build with all my new tools.

It's Mine..All Mine..

Not that there was really any doubt in my mind, but my computer is solely mine again. Kira's new Dell arrived today, so she no longer has any reason to be on mine. Very exciting. Luckily setting up the wireless network was a breeze (as it should be). I was worried that it wouldn't want to cooperate just because computers like to be a pain.

Did anyone catch the premiere of 'Greys Anatomy' last night? I think that it shows potential. Maybe it's just because I work in the OR every once in a while these days. Although I'm sure that you'll never see the procedure that I do on the show. It reminds me a bit of the first year of ER when most everyone was an intern. It took me the whole episode to realize that the main character, Meredith Grey (hence 'Greys Anatomy'), was in 'Old School.' Everybody's favorite pizza boy (well at least the desperate housewives'), Patrick Dempsey (Loverboy), also stars.

I got my 4WD and JC Whitney catalog in the mail today, so I need to go and look at all the cool things that I can't buy :)

A Good Day to Own A Jeep

It would also be a good day to own some rain pants. It's been raining constantly for some time now. This morning I had to go downtown. About the same time as high tide. I'd have to say I enjoyed myself. I got to drive my Jeep through several puddles pushing at least a couple feet deep. The only problem with this morning was that because it was a holiday, the gate that I usually walk through was still locked. This meant I had to walk on the road, which was a foot and a half under water in parts. I guess I could have used some waders as well. The gate was open on the trip back, so I didn't have to walk through the puddle again. Approaching the Cooper River Bridge on the way back to Mount Pleasant was the biggest puddle with two cars apparently stalled out on the other side with their barefoot owners standing next to them. I kind of got a nasty glare from one of the drivers as I drove right through the puddle and passed him. :)

Birthday Bananza

This week is a crazy week for birthdays. My sisters was Sunday, then Sheena Thursday, Nana Friday, and today is Susan's. So finishing off the week the way I started it, Happy Birthday Susan!!

I worked trim this Saturday before Easter (which is kind of weird because we only worked a half day yesterday), I set up my IRA yesterday, so now I'm broke and want the money. Once I do my taxes (waiting for the IRA stuff to clear) I'll get a little bit of money back to spend on tools. I plan to buy the miter saw, brad nailer & compressor kit, and probably a 2 1/2 inch nail gun. That way some of the projects for the house can actually get off the ground.

I'll still want an orbital sander and a table saw, both of which will likely be needed for the upcoming projects. Table saws are a bit too much for now though. Lowes needs to run a no interest for a year deal on tools.

Ok, well, it's Saturday night and I should be going out and partying in my new easter bunny suit. Don't you wish you could see that.

The Legend of Zelda

I know you know the game. If you think you don't, here is a [link to help remind you]. The reason I bring it up today is that while I was listening to midi's on the internet (for blackberry ringtones) I stumbled across one for a game (Sim City in case you were wondering). My mother happened to be standing there and asked if they had any for "that game". I immediately knew exactly which game she was talking about. It was the game that she spent hours playing in the late 80's. The only video game she ever was addicted to. The Legend of Zelda. I think she actually had dreams about the game. Thinking it would be cool to find a midi for the game, I googled it and within seconds had several to choose from. My mother was easily able to pick out which part of the game each were from within the first couple seconds of hearing one.

The Blackberry Continued

I guess Jonathan wasn't impressed by the posting from the Blackberry. He needs pictures. Well, after our day long photo shoot, I have some!

The model number is 7250. Overview at a glance..phone, internet, email, SMS, calendar, address book, one game, memo. Apparently I am also getting a bluetooth headset. Ok, so more details, a product demo, and a better picture can be found on the Blackberry website.

Happy Birthday Sheena! I know she probably doesn't read the blog, but Ben does, so hopefully he can pass on the message.

Live From The Blackberry

This entry is being written in my new Blackberry. This is mostly just a proof of concept post. If it works out well, I will be able to post from just about anywhere as long as I have cell service. You will have to forgive any spelling or grammatical errors because there likely will be no spell checking or proofreading. I like having the QWERTY keyboard. Hopefully the keys don't rub off too quickly. I am trying to figure out a way to easily check my regular email from the Blackberry without dealing with the spam. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to set up the filters to only allow email from friends and family. Well I better get back to mastering this thing. Adieu!

Fletch

I've been watching Fletch on Spike Tv..so I haven't put much effort into this entry. Watching made me wonder what was going on with Fletch Won which is apparently still being directed by Kevin Smith, show also played a part in the writing of the script. According to IMDB, they haven't officially chosen someone to play Irwin Fletcher. This movie is supposed to take place well before the others. I've heard mentions of Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds (who turned it down I believe), and Jason Lee (whose name is apparently not big enough). I've also heard rumors recently that it could e Garden State's Zach Braff. Zach Braff could be good, although I'd really like to see Jason Lee in the role. I have a feeling it's a movie that will take a long time to make. Kevin is filming The Passion of the Clerks now..and I know that he will be heavily involved in The Green Hornet.

To PSP or not to PSP

Sony is coming out with a handheld gaming system this week. Until today, I didn't think that it really even sounded like something I'd want. I've since found that you can put digital video onto the memory stick duo and watch it on the go. Which means that I could record tv shows on my computer and take them to work to watch while I sit in the OR and wait for my cases to begin. That would be cool. Plus, I could play games and mp3's..seeming how that's it's original purpose. I sat around for more than an hour today waiting for things to get rolling because of OR delays. Wouldn't I be the dork carrying a cellphone, Blackberry (more to come on that once I get it), and a Sony PSP on my hip. Wait..wouldn't I be more of a dork. :) So anyways, it could be cool to have one..but they aren't cheap. I'm thinking a PS3 or a widescreen tv for my PS3 would be money better spent (as if I had money to spend..ha). Maybe I should take up reading. That would be cheaper. Especially if I went to that place where they rent out books for free. (Don't count on that btw.)

Not Enough

The five hours of sleep that I had last night didn't really do it for me, so I am off to bed soon. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Trim in the morning and lasing all afternoon..into the early evening.

I was able to very comfortably open the SunRider top on my Jeep today. I've opened it several times since I bought it, but today didn't require a sweatshirt and the heat on at full blast. It'd be nice if the temperature could just sit somewhere between 70 and 80 for the next 90 years. I also found some screws and washers which allowed my to put my new Clemson license plate on the front. The original screws were too short for my quarter inch think pewter plate.

Does anyone know of a good place to get plain white magnetic sheeting (that could be used on a car, for example)? I need something roughly 24"-32" square. I've looked at a couple places online..they just seem a bit shady.

Oodles of Doe

It's actually about 1am on Sunday and I just got back from the BEWB fest being held in Columbia. Good times were had by all. I think Jonathan wrote about the weekend thus far..so I won't make you read about it again. Although if you want to read about it again, go to his blog :)

I am tired and have to visit with some fish in morning. Till later...

Oh, and about the title..I saw tons of deer on the way back this evening grazing on the side of the highway. I really don't have any more to say about that.

Enjoy your respective weekends, yo.

No Time For Blog

I kept getting sidetracked (or at least more interested in things other than the blog) today and I never got around to writing an entry. So here it is. This will be short because yesterday's was too long..and it's past my bedtime. Tomorrow will be a long..but good day. Well, good after 4.

I started messing around with a company's website that I have never seen a dime for doing. It doesn't seem too likely that I will. At least not directly. The good thing however is that it gives me an opportunity to learn more about CSS. There is so much syntax that I can't remember any of it on my long breaks from coding. If I had something wrong with my personal website..or just wanted to revamp it, I'd practically have to relearn everything I used to write it :). By the time CSS sticks I'm sure they'll have something better..and more complicated.

Lost in Alias

I said I would write out my thoughts on the Abrams Wednesday night programs sometime. I thought it fitting to try and write it on a Wednesday night. This isn't an English paper..so it probably will be stream of consciousness like always and won't make much sense. And, I probably won't get any of my points across [and won't think to mention most of them]

First we'll start with Alias. I've been watching since the 69 minute nokia sponsored commercial free first episode aired on Sunday, September 30, 2001. Sadly I've only missed the original air date of one episode. These were the good days when there were plot twists every week. Sydney was a double agent for the CIA working to bring down SD-6.

Due to the fact that people watching the show couldn't follow it, the show was 'dumbed down' in about 10 seconds after the Super Bowl in the middle of season 2. They took out SD-6 (and the whole alliance for that matter) in the blink of an eye. This allowed the viewer to clearly see who was supposed to be good and bad in the show. This started the downfall of Alias. Thirty-four episodes of build up on SD-6 was squashed in the last minute of an episode. The story starts over. People should be able to follow it now. Problem is JJ Abrams still has a master-crazy-plan to keep you wondering what's going on. Which is good for the core fan base.

Jump to season 4, the current one. I read somewhere that they were trying to make episodes more self-contained, at least in the beginning of the season. This would get new viewers staying on ABC after Lost interested and make it easier to follow. Which defies everything that is so good about Alias. It's the overall storyline that keeps it interesting. Shows seems to be much more contained now. Something happens in the beginning and all loose ends are tied up in the end. For the most part. Problem is that there is an overall storyline. This prevents episodes from being truly self contained. Hence, it is more dumbed-down..and the 'once in a blue moon' watchers still don't get what's going on. I think they brought new player's like Nadia into the plot line to give the writers the ability to help the newcomers understand what they've missed. They can explain, for example, who Anna Espinosa is. It's just not enough though to explain three years of relevant material.

Has Abrams Lost his passion for Alias? Perhaps. He had a vision in his head for the whole series before he filmed the first episode. I think that ABC keeps pushing him away from what he wanted to make Alias, into something that will get viewers.

I feel that Lost is where Alias was in season one. The good thing is that they started off with a much larger fan base. People must have thought it was another reality show about people stranded on an island, so they watched it. Lost has got an extremely well strategized plot. Something that Abrams seems to be really good at. There is a huge matrix of interconnectivity between the characters themselves and the happenings of the island. The show is also still very mysterious. Not a single viewer really knows what's going on. Lost is probably a good water cooler topic. I don't see anyone on a regular basis that watches it..so I wouldn't know.

They are currently plaguing Lost with the repeat syndrome that has hit Alias for the last couple seasons. ABC was nice enough to delay the start of Alias this year and show the whole season repeat free. There have been a couple of weeks off due to major events (although I would have much rather watched Alias than Bush's clamoring), but so far they have been pretty good about it. The big problem is that Alias is now following a lot of repeats which will keep the number of viewers down.

So in conclusion. Alias was a great show. Now it's just good. I'm not sure how much longer it will be around. Lost is currently great. Let's hope they can keep it that way.

I think I am tired of writing now. You should be tired of reading.

Shoot'em Up

I applied for another PS2 beta test today. Yet another one that doesn't really fit into the genre of games that I like, but I'll beta anything I can get my hands on. It's an online game called Battlefield: Modern America. It looks like another SOCOM type game. I'd like these games more if I weren't playing against others who play this type of game all the time. I'm never any good at them. There seems to be a lot more to them than the good old days of Quake. The best thing about betas, is getting to play the game for a couple weeks or so without paying for it. It gives the developer time to debug the server and time for me too tire of the game.

For those of you wondering..by the time you figure in every dollar I have actually spent for my Jeep, it's probably about 5 $/mile. And it's been worth every single penny. The sad thing is that I had a screw in the tire by the time I hit 800 miles on it. I still need to get that taken care of. I seem to have a problem with tires on cars. I had a flat within the first couple weeks of having my Mazda. The fun didn't stop there. I can't seem to find an entry about my trip over the Cooper River Bridge with a flat tire on the Mazda. Maybe I never wrote it.

I'll definitely be in California early April. I just need to find a flight and make some reservations at a couple hotels. The trip should be fun and educational all at the same time. My first two visits to the state were spent entirely in LAX so it should be nice to leave the airport, I hope.

Why Can't Things Just Be Easy?

It has been way too long since I last used MySQL for anything important. I can't remember one bit. I've been trying for about two hours to get rid of anonymous passwords and create a root password. I've been trying to install some open source programs on my personal web server. Someone needs to make a good windows based front end for people like me who just want to play around and easily create databases.

Off the SQL soapbox for now...

Today was a good juggling act for my two jobs. I teched a laser from 7-10 and nailed up some wood until 4. The laser job needs to pick up some so I don't have to split my days between the two jobs. I had no desire to do trim after stopping by the house and getting some breakfast and switching out vehicles. :)

I find it extremely hard to blog every day. I think I write more in this blog than I speak most days. Well, maybe not..but close. I'm jealous of Ben and his ability to consistently write novellas on a daily basis. I just simply ain't got nuttn' to say.

Oh..it's a landmark day. I got the mileage on the odometer of my Jeep into the 4 digit range this morning.

Check Dis Playa

On the front of the Charleston Post & Courier today, was an article about the website [Gizoogle]. A search engine fo` those of us tizzle wizzy we was gansta. It's quite entertaining. I'm surprised I haven't already run across it. The search results are all gangstafied and it will tranzilate any page it finds fo' you.

I found that I am para-quoted on this page here:[http://www.banderasnews.com/restaurants/hard-rock.htm] while gizoogling. Very interesting. I'm not sure if I should complain..or just let it go. Whatever the case, I've never been to that site. I disabled the email address listed on the site some time ago. I should sue. :)

Alright, D-to-tha-izzont be a hada playa!

Where'd They All Come From?

I remember when life was easy and I only had two pairs of shoes. One for church and one for everything else. Right now I have a pile of about ten pairs of footwear sitting in front of me (and I know it's not all I have). I've got my work sneakers, work boots, play sneakers, tevas, birks, kayaking shoes, hiking boots, club shoes, business shoes, and of course my brand new pair of Dansko's. I had never hear of Dankso shoes until last week. Apparently they are all the rage in the medical field so my mother got me some for my birthday. I guess I will find out what makes them so great..other than the fact that they make me an inch and a half taller.

Today while out an about I saw a 2005 Ford GT. Wow that's a nice car. I was thinking I heard is was $80k-100k. I looked it up when I got home. Base Price: $140k. I'd be scared to drive a car that could have put me through college. Twice. Here's a picture of the car in case you haven't seen it. The one I saw happened to be yellow.

Doh..I almost forgot

I was heading for the bed..which has been calling my name for some time now. Then I realized I hadn't yet written my daily dose of balderdash.

Today was my first day running the laser. I thought it went very well. Once I figure out some medical terms and figure out how to correctly fill out all of the paperwork, I'll be good to go. It's actually a very cool procedure. The laser burns off the excess tissue at an amazing rate.

A good part of my days will probably be spent in the physicians lounge waiting for my next case. Which is cool because there is food and beverages aplenty. Whether or not I'm really allowed to be partaking in this food and beverage is another story. I'm going off of the asking for forgiveness is easier than asking for permission idea. It would have been hard to go find food today though so I'm glad they had it. Cases were fairly close together, not on any kind of true schedule, and pretty much ran straight through (7am-3pm) with little dead time.

Long Day

Ok..So I am tired and I have to be in the OR at 7 in the morning (I was there till about 8 tonight). Which means that this is going to be quick. I'll do my best to give my thoughts on Alias and Lost in the next couple days. I don't have the energy to do it today.

Hopefully tomorrow won't be too long of a day. I have four cases, but the last one starts at 1:30 I think, so I should be done and out of the hospital by 3:30-4 unless we get behind. A lot of the doctors doing this procedure are just now learning how to do it, so it may take a bit longer until they get used to it. This will be the first time that I'll be a part of it. I'm looking forward to it. It's also payday for my other job so I'll have to find a time to get my paycheck. I can't wait until I get set up with direct deposit. I miss that.

No Lost

Well, there is no Lost this evening, so I guess I should use this time wisely and put some words into the blog before Alias starts.

The next week of work should be entertaining. Tomorrow I will be doing trim in the morning and afternoon. In the evening, I will be hanging out in the hospital for some training and apparently a good dinner. Then I will be in the OR all day Friday. Saturday I'll probably be doing trim because the IRS, the State of South Carolina, Charleston County, and Discover Card all seem to still want my money. Sunday is the Aquarium. Monday starts out in the OR and probably finishes in trim..

I love the "Green Light" Ford Mustang commercial that was apparently aired during the Super bowl (which I didn't watch--I don't get Fox--not that I would have watched it anyway). You can see it (the commercial) and get the details [here]. Granted I didn't buy a Mustang and I don't live in Fargo, but I did get a convertible vehicle in the middle of the winter. So I can relate :)

Ok..Alias started long ago. In fact it's almost over. Hasta lluego.

I Need Me Some Scrubs

Ok..So I've made you, my loyal reader, wait long enough for the news. Here it is. You ready? I'm not working in Seabrook any more. There it is. Wasn't that exciting? Ok, well, maybe not for you. I guess I could tell you the actual exciting news. I'll soon be trading in my tool bag for some scrubs. I gave my current employers the news this afternoon. Thinking back, this was only the second time that I have actually resigned from a position. Not that I've ever been fired, mind you. The jobs just came to an end. I guess I haven't completely quit my trim job yet. They are willing to work with me while I transition to the new job.

So why am I wearing scrubs you ask? Well, I'll be spending some quality time in the OR of local hospitals for a new company started by local doctors. In a months time I should be traveling across the country to become a certified Laser Tech, through a company called Laserscope. In the meantime, I will be sitting in on several cases/procedures and learning as I go. I'm not really sure what all my job will entail, besides being responsible for moving, setting up, and taking care of a rather expensive laser and it's accessories. I will be able to take on more tasks as needed while the company grows.

The procedure is called Greenlight PVP (Photoselective Vaporization of the Prostate) and is used to treat BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia). BPH is something that most males will experience as they age. I won't go into the details because I'm sure most of my readers don't want to know much more than this (if you are interested, go to the link above). To be honest, it's going to take me some getting used to.

The laser is cool. I saw it for the first time last Thursday when it was being installed in our first hospital. The laser operates in the green light spectrum (hence the name, Greenlight PVP) at a wavelength of 532nm. Special glasses are required to protect your eyes during the procedure. They just so happen to be orange..and purple. It's amazing how bright the laser is..and the fact that you cannot see the light produced at all when looking through the glasses.

Well anyways..I'm sure more news will follow now that this is officially in public domain. Now I just need to buy some orange scrubs (yes, they do indeed make Clemson scrubs).

Chocolate Fountain

I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter. (source)

While flipping through channels this evening, I saw something I didn't know existed. The chocolate fountain. Maybe I just live a sheltered life (which I know I do) and don't get out to enough to [the right kind of] parties. But I have never seen one of these before. I need one of these in my house. I'd be fat and happy. And probably sick.

Unfortunately it appears that you can't rent these in the state of SC. The closest place seems to be Atlanta. But they ship...

Filler

This entry is being written solely so I can say I wrote something today..and that my streak is not yet over. I actually wrote an entry with a bit of substance, but it is not yet ready for your eyes. If you want to hack in to my blog to read it, please feel free..as long as you're not some malicious hacker.

I can't wait for the weather to warm up a tad bit more so I can comfortably take the top off of my jeep. It was in the sixties today, but with the wind..it felt rather chilly driving with the windows open. Just another 7-10 degrees warmer would be great. There are some things I'd really like to own for the jeep before the summer gets into full swing. Darn taxes :)

Poogan and his Porch

Is the suspense killing you yet? Or have you already forgotten that I have exciting news to share with you. Well the exciting news is coming. But alas, yet again, it's not coming today. I need some more concrete facts before I spill the beans, which I may get tomorrow. *crossing fingers*

Today was good. I accomplished very little, aside from spending too much money at Target and getting my hair cut. Oh..and the most important thing to take care of..laundry. Good stuff.

This evening I went with a friend to Poogan's Porch on Queen St. downtown for dinner. It was very nice. There is a quick story on their website that you can watch that gives you some of the history. Basically it was an old house (built in 1886 I believe) that was converted to a restaurant almost 30 years ago. After that, we walked around downtown a bit which is always entertaining. It is kind of sad how little I know about downtown considering I've lived here for..well..err..a long time. I am getting much better though.

With all this Garden State chat lately..and the fact that my sister bought it today..I think I will try to watch it tomorrow, time willing. I'll even try to write about my exciting news if possible.

SiBo, The Meaning Behind

Since Mary figured out who sibo is, I feel I must explain where the name came from, since most people reading this wouldn't have any clue. The simple/short answer is that it is short for Silent Bob. Yes, this all came about with several intoxicating people at a bar. I don't remember which bar..it may have been Music Bachs (Greenville, SC), which has been renamed since.

In the two years after graduating from Clemson I followed a band, Backyard Green, around in my spare time and took lots of pictures. Because I took pictures and made them available for them to put online, they loved me (well mostly the lead vocalist did). I was sorta kinda part of the band--which is to say I was generally on their tab (not that I drank much--but food was often part of the tab).

As most of you know, I don't really talk all that much, hence the 'Silent' part comes fairly easily. Many people, including several members of the band, thought I had a striking resemblance to director Kevin Smith. In his movies, Kevin often plays a character who happens to not talk much. This character is called Silent Bob. So viola! The band decides to call me Silent Bob.

Being in a drunken stupor, they were unsatisfied with the name however because it's too long. Silent nor Bob by themselves really worked for them. One of them then comes up with the name SiBo, taking the first two letters of each word. I was henceforth often referred to as Sibo by most of the band. My sister and a couple of her friends like to call me SiBo as well. One of my co-workers at TRU called me Silent Bob every once in a while, with no knowledge of the whole SiBo thing.

The End. I think..any questions?

Busy Me

I've been a bit busier than usual these last couple days due to the 'exciting news' that I'm still not able to share. Mostly because it's probably not the right time just yet. Plus I don't have enough details to really get into it.

I took some pictures of the new Cooper River bridge today while I was sitting still on the old one. I'll try to do my best to post some..just don't count on it :). From the sounds of it, we should be driving over it before you know it (like in the next 3-4 months). It's going to open about a year ahead of schedule. Hopefully it is still a quality built bridge. Before being completed it handled several Hurricanes/Tropical Storms with no problems..so it can't be too bad. The final bridge run/walk for the old bridge is April 2. I ought to r..walk it :)

Exciting News!

Well, there is some exciting news. I just don't currently have time or energy to give it a proper entry, so it will wait. I had some work I had to do after normal working hours today. So I was working until about seven. That only left an hour to eat before the JJ Abrams double feature action packed two hours of tv.

I'll be lucky enough to be driving to Seabrook for yet another fun day of carpentry tomorrow. Go figure. From the looks of it, my trips out there are going to be ending soon. I'm gonna put the smackdown.

Alias is just about over, so I'm going to bed. Night!..or Good day to those of you that wake up to my nonsense :) !!

Just Take All My Money

I got the property taxes for my Jeep today. I totally forgot about the fact that I had to pay those. There goes the idea of buying some power tools. The good thing is that I don't actually have to pay the taxes until the end of May. Of course April 15th is only a month and a half away from now. Before then I have to start an IRA so I don't have to give Uncle Sam any more than I need to. I'll let him give me some money instead. Maybe he can pay buy me some tools.

Good news on the Seabrook front. I may not have to work out there starting Thursday. Which means I can get an extra hour of sleep a day. It'll be nice to get back to working in town. I've heard however that the homeowner for the house I'd be working on can be a pain because he is always around. Anything east of the Cooper has got to be better than the cardboard mansion in Seabrook however.

I just saw a commercial for GT4, which Jonathan has been spending some quality time playing I'm sure. It looks good, but I'll have to wait until it becomes a greatest hit. I just can't justify $50 for any game.

I'm getting closer with my closet. I've ripped most of the old shelving out and have drawn some lines for the new. All I have to do is rip up some wood for ledger and find studs. I still have to buy the plywood, but I have the rest of the wood I need.

I really need some direction for my entries. Otherwise they turn out like this one. Lots of useless information that I can't talk about for more than three sentences. Hope you enjoyed it!
