Shoot'em Up
I applied for another PS2 beta test today. Yet another one that doesn't really fit into the genre of games that I like, but I'll beta anything I can get my hands on. It's an online game called Battlefield: Modern America. It looks like another SOCOM type game. I'd like these games more if I weren't playing against others who play this type of game all the time. I'm never any good at them. There seems to be a lot more to them than the good old days of Quake. The best thing about betas, is getting to play the game for a couple weeks or so without paying for it. It gives the developer time to debug the server and time for me too tire of the game.
For those of you wondering..by the time you figure in every dollar I have actually spent for my Jeep, it's probably about 5 $/mile. And it's been worth every single penny. The sad thing is that I had a screw in the tire by the time I hit 800 miles on it. I still need to get that taken care of. I seem to have a problem with tires on cars. I had a flat within the first couple weeks of having my Mazda. The fun didn't stop there. I can't seem to find an entry about my trip over the Cooper River Bridge with a flat tire on the Mazda. Maybe I never wrote it.
I'll definitely be in California early April. I just need to find a flight and make some reservations at a couple hotels. The trip should be fun and educational all at the same time. My first two visits to the state were spent entirely in LAX so it should be nice to leave the airport, I hope.
