My Computer Ate My Homework
This evening Kira put a floppy disk (who the heck still uses those?) into my mother's laptop knowing full well that it would get stuck and probably not come out easily. This was the case. In fact, a good chunk of the disk stayed inside the drive when it was being forced out. At this point the floppy drive is useless. After about fifteen minutes of vigorous shaking (which causes the computer to make some bizarre whirring sounds) and shoving objects into the drive, we finally get everything out. Problem now is that we can't get another disk back in. I ended up taking the whole drive apart to to figure out what was wrong. I find it entertaining when you either have less pieces than you started with..or leftover pieces when you are finished putting it back together.
On the job front I'll be full time at my Laser job on April 13. Interestingly that was a week ago. That's six full work days. Six days that I worked 44 hours at my other job. That will be a nice chunk of change..it'll make paying that saw off a little easier.
Speaking of the saw, I got a free blade from Amazon FedEx'd today. The saw is currently somewhere between Indianapolis and Greensboro. Hopefully it won't make it to Mt Pleasant until Monday (although it's scheduled for Friday) so no one here but me has to get it in the house. It's apparently 71 lbs in the box. I carry this same saw around all the time at work. I wouldn't think it weighed anywhere near 70 lbs (although I wouldn't say it's light). I'll have to give Amazon props for their shipping. I had the 70 lb saw shipped for free and it will likely be here the same week I ordered it. I saved a lot of money over buying it locally.
