Bombs Away!

Today I spent my obligatory two hours at work and then hung out with my sister for a while. We drove up to the north area which is the home of the big box retail stores that sell tv's. I wasn't too impressed with the selection. I really wanted to see an LG in action because I never paid much attention to them in the past. I've actually not given much attention to any LCD in the past because I was dead set on a CRT. At BB and CC I found the 23" version of the 26" tv I want. Due too poor reception, neither of the pictures looked good. They were at the end of the line where the picture on all of the tv's start getting fuzzy because they've split off the signal so many times. The only 26" screen that I found that looked good was a SHARP. I know the company as been around for a while, but I don't know much more than that. It was a bit pricey so we'll see.

To answer Ben's question..my machine runs off 220V (well 200, 208, 220, 230, or 240) at 50amps (I really need to figure out how to test amps on my multimeter) which means the plugs are even fewer and far between. Now for the water. Hmm. Well, it's been different in every hospital so far. This machine uses a lot of water. Which I find horribly wasteful and I wish there was another way around it. I didn't really see just how wasteful it was until this week when I had to drain it into a sink. I have been tying it directly into a drain line. I carry with me two hoses, one for inflow and the other outflow. My inflow of water comes mostly from a garden style faucet. Today however I had to tap into the end of the sink faucet in the sub-sterile room. That meant another trip to Lowes, which was luckily right next door to the hospital. Lowes has probably been liking me these last couple weeks. I've made probably a dozen trips for my plumbing and electrical needs (not to mention the home projects). I'm honestly not sure when the last day was that I did not stop into Lowes at least once to pick something up.

Oh, and in case you haven't heard..or missed in on /. there is a new show called 'Systm' that is only available online..and only through torrents (the legal variety). The site to get the torrent is [A HREF="http://www.systm.org/">www.systm.org]. The first episode was just over ten minutes. I thought it was very well done. The people doing it are professionals so they know what they are doing. I wouldn't be surprised to see visits from Leo & Patrick, whom I believe to be the original hosts of the "Screen Savers" from ZDTV/TechTV/G4..or whatever it's called these days (I don't get it whatever it is).

Gotta be up before too long..must get sleep.

I was just reading an article the other day about how good Samsung is now, especially for LCD's and DLP screens.
