It's May!
Today turned out to be a pretty good day if you don't account for the fact that I spent it mostly inside working. The weather turned out a lot better than I had thought. It would have be a nice day for a paddle. I really need to get back out in the kayak sometime. I've just had other things that take precedence.
I went to the aquarium this morning for my normal volunteer work. Not too much out of the ordinary today. There were 7 baby sharks born on Tuesday though so I was able to check them out. It's amazing how big they are considering the size of the mother. She must not be very old herself. I saw them shortly after they were fed so there were some leftovers floating around in the tank. Seeing their natural predatorial instincts with the food was fascinating.
Upon leaving the Aquarium I set out to take the long way home and hit as many of the local Lowes stores as possible. Today was the last day to use a coupon we received recently. Much to my delight, I hit the mother-load at the first store. I was finally able to get my compressor/brad nailer kit. No more hand driving nails for me..unless I need to do some framing. I think a framing gun probably holds more air than my compressor. I guess if I get to that point, I'll have to pull out my mad electrical skills and get one of the compressors in the garage to work.
With the new compressor in tow I was able to quickly finish up the shelves. Then came the part I loathe. Prepping for paint. This step is likely worse than the actually painting. A lot of spackling and a tube and a half of caulk later and I'm just about ready for paint. All I need to do is sand the walls down again before I paint. I can't wait until it's done. I may actually be able to walk in my room again in the near future. Not that it'll last for long.
Ok, Grey's Anatomy just came on. Gotta go. Peace out.
