An Update Perhaps?

I've been spending lots of time away from the computer lately. Although what I've been doing probably isn't much better for my social skills. I've actually been spending a lot of time in the back room of the house. It can be referred to as the office, although no computer lives there anymore--it is the storage site for paperwork. It could be referred to as the play room, which is mostly correct. It would be better to call it the Lego room. In an effort to conserve space, clean up the room, and be able to play conductor with my trains every other 6 months when I go to that room, I decided to build a layout that used most of my open bricks and had a couple train loops. I succeeded on both aspects. I'll put pictures up when I take some. It's not quite complete. I still need to add the final details.

Hershey was very happy to see the trains working again. My sinus's were not (and still aren't). I haven't been able to breathe normally for a month because of the dust and cat hair that has collected in that room for the last two years. Now any time I go near dust my nose closes up and my eyes start to ache. This means my room offers no refuge.

I've been using my new keyboard to type this entry. It's my first new keyboard in nine and a half years and I've been enjoying it. It's the "Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000". It has a nice padded palm rest and seems to be the first of their keyboards to have the right layout of the keys in years. My old keyboard, which is supposed to be white, is yellow and the keys were starting to stick. It was definitely time.

This is a mental note for me..stop buying jackets and shoes. I am a guy. I don't need this many shoes. I remember when I had two pairs. Sneakers for school & play and church shoes. From where I sit I can count 10 pairs, which doesn't include my kayak shoes. The good thing about having this many shoes is that they last for years because I hardly ever wear any one pair often. I also seem to have a fascination for jackets. It gets cold here for maybe two months a year. I have more jackets than long sleeve shirts. Well, maybe not, but it's getting close. The sad thing is that all of the jackets are the type you'd wear skiing, not the type you'd wear to a fancy restaurant.

I can be a bit mean to my sister (in the sibling love kind of way). I bought her two things for Christmas. The first was a guitar. A Little Tykes guitar, which she unfortunately enjoyed more than I had thought she would. This was wrapped in duct tape, then tissue paper, to hide the duct tape. The second item was season 4 of the Gilmore Girls. The outside box was simply wrapped in regular wrapping paper. The DVD itself was wrapped in painters tape. I thought this was nice of me, because painters tape comes off easily. It comes off especially easy from the layer of packing tape that was just below. Needless to say it took her longer to open those two presents than any other. Although Aunt Donna's gift would have been a competitor if Kira hadn't cheated.
