My New Ride

nev1_4small.jpg

Earlier this month I purchased a 2006 Fuji Nevada 1.0 mountain bike in anticipation of the day I can ride from my house over the new Cooper River Bridge without having to cross over the busiest road in Mount Pleasant. Construction under the bridge is well on the way to allowing access from my side of Highway 17 to the 12 foot bicycle and pedestrian walkway that runs along the bridge.

In the meantime it's been fun exploring some of the areas around my house that I don't normally see while sitting in front of the computer. My favorite find so far is a path that winds around the outside of the I'On subdivision..err..village. The path, which follows along the edge of Hobcaw Creek, is mostly made up of stone and dirt, with several wooden bridges throughout making it a fun mountain biking trek. I really wish this path went further up the creek. I'd almost be ok with it going all the way up to my house..of course I'm sure that there's lots of people in between that probably wouldn't be so keen on the idea.

p.s. I do have and wear a helmet!
