What a Day!
Today went a lot smoother than I had anticipated. I woke up to find lots of updated and newly formed blogs..which was awesome. I then headed to the dentist for my 8 o'clock appointment where they were nice enough to not tell me I had cavities. It was also $36 less than I thought it would be. From there I went to the Department of Motor Vehicles. They wouldn't let me go in yielding my 1.5 inch long knife that I carry on my keys. I guess the DMV has to take all precautions dealing with the type of people that go there.
The lady next to me was having some serious issues. I won't go into all of it..and I'll be honest that I haven't quite figured it all out. I think she was trying to renew the registration for a car. The car, which was impounded, was owned by her father. Apparently her father can't drive. Her boyfriend is the one who can get it out of the impound. But he's in jail. So..are you lost yet? I am. I feel sorry for the DMV employees.
So anyways, I renewed my license and changed out my new plate for my Jeep for the endangered species tag. I walked out of the DMV about 9:05. I don't have to go back for 10 years. This was the least painful trip to the DMV I have ever had. There was practically no wait time. I sat down for about 5 minutes, which was barely enough time to fill out the paperwork. So the dentist and the DMV in 65 minutes.
I then went and checked out 3 different locations for putting in a Kayak. I decided on the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. I went Kayaking here when I was in High School. When I was getting all my gear ready, there was a guy coming in. He backed his trailer into the water to load his boat. The only problem was that his boat was floating away. It was probably 15 feet from the landing. He said a few choice words, followed by, "well that never happened before." He mumbled some other redneck things. I just kind of nodded and acted like I knew what he was talking about.
It was a nice paddle. The water was very calm. The wind, on the other hand, was definitely blowing. After paddling into the wind for about an hour and a half, I looked back to see how far I hadn't gone. I so need a motor. The trip back to the landing was nice. I mostly just let the wind blow me all the way back.
Ok..I'm ending this now because I'm watching more tv than writing..

Always good to be out doing what you enjoy. Hope you get out on the water more often.
