Fletch
I've been watching Fletch on Spike Tv..so I haven't put much effort into this entry. Watching made me wonder what was going on with Fletch Won which is apparently still being directed by Kevin Smith, show also played a part in the writing of the script. According to IMDB, they haven't officially chosen someone to play Irwin Fletcher. This movie is supposed to take place well before the others. I've heard mentions of Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds (who turned it down I believe), and Jason Lee (whose name is apparently not big enough). I've also heard rumors recently that it could e Garden State's Zach Braff. Zach Braff could be good, although I'd really like to see Jason Lee in the role. I have a feeling it's a movie that will take a long time to make. Kevin is filming The Passion of the Clerks now..and I know that he will be heavily involved in The Green Hornet.

The book version of Fletch is a little different from the movie, but very good. I have heard that the whole series of Fletch books is of the same high quality, but never got around to reading past the first one. "Fletch Won" is book #8 in that series, right before "Fletch Too," though I think cronologically it would be a prequel to "Fletch."
Gregory McDonald also wrote a series of "Flynn" books which are supposed to be even better than the Fletch books. I'm not what I would call an avid reader, but the Fletch book was a real page-turner.
