Packing

I'm currently "packing." Which simply means that I am avoiding actually doing anything whatsoever that resembles packing. I'm doing things like watching my taped copy Gray's Anatomy from last night, renaming my mp3's, going to Target and buying a million candle watt light for half price.

I'll be crossing my fingers, and so should you btw, that my Blackberry will work well in California so I can write blogs while there. Otherwise my record will be broken if I can't gain access to a computer. This is where a laptop would come in handy. I was going to try to prewrite some stuff before leaving and future posting it but that won't happen.

I bought a book for my flight. I got Dan Brown's Digital Fortress. I enjoy The Da Vinci Code so hopefully this will be good as well. Not being a reader, I don't know what the good books are these days. I've also got books 1 & 3 (can't find #2) of CS Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia. They are making a movie..so I thought it would be good to reread them, since I don't remember a bit of it. Same goes for The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy which I can't find either. All I remember from that is that 42 is the answer to the universal question and the Earth was ruled by mice. If any of that spoils the book/movie for you, sorry.

If you have time, you might want to check out Barnes & Noble for a copy of HGTTG. I can't remember the last time that I've been in there and they didn't have "the increasingly inaccurate five-part trilogy" in the bargain books section. I need to re-read it myself one of these days. While you're there, you should hit up the HRC in Sacramento for a shot glass.

One of my friends from grad school has spent the last year working on effects for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I've heard it looks really good so far (from a strictly visual point of view).
