Goodbye My Cathode Ray
It looks as if I may be buying a new tv before I originally expected. It was something I was both hoping for and dreading. Shortly after I finished my blog entry yesterday I turned the tv on to see what was on. About 15 minutes later it made a funny noise and completely died. It's been having some issues lately so I'm not too surprised to see it go. I guess it served me well for that last 10 or so years through the end of high school, all of college, and a bit beyond.
I intend for my next tv to be widescreen and hd. The big problem is that the slim tubes aren't out yet and the widescreen CRTs are too deep for my current entertainment center. I don't want to buy a flat panel because they are pricey and I'm not impressed with the quality/longevity. I'm not yet prepared to build the new 'entertainment center.' I still need a few tools, more material, and space in the room to make it deeper than the current. So I had to reattach the cable to the computer and reinstall the tv software while I debate my options.
